Laurence Ion is a longevity advocate, investor, and entrepreneur, and one of the founding members of VitaDAO. He is dedicated to fostering a community-driven approach to aging research, empowering individuals to contribute directly through decentralized funding models. Laurence’s vision is to create a platform where groundbreaking longevity projects can thrive, driven by the support of a passionate and engaged global community.
Since its inception, VitaDAO has funded over two dozen projects and deployed more than $6 million in capital to advance longevity research. Two of these projects have successfully spun out into their own ventures:VitaFirst: A project from the Kirkwood lab at Newcastle University focused on geroprotective compounds.ArtanBIO: A spin-out that developed RNA medicine targeting nonsense mutations, incubated entirely within the VitaDAO ecosystem.In addition to funding, VitaDAO has launched initiatives like Vita Labs, a venture studio to support early-stage projects, and has helped startups like Retro Biosciences secure major funding rounds. Through a combination of decentralized governance and community engagement, VitaDAO continues to grow, with plans to expand its community and create even more impact in the longevity space.
